Has the Covid-19 pandemic turned your world upside down?

These are stressful times for many of us. There is so much we cannot control. We have been forced to home school our children, we are trying to working from home, or have been furloughed. We have been separated from family and friends and the four walls of our homes feel like they are closing in on us. Not to mention the anxiety surrounding the virus itself.

Weight gain during lock down is a real problem. We are visiting the supermarket less and so are stocking up on longer life foods such as pasta. This carbohydrate rich diet is unhealthy, and the comfort eating of high sugar, high fat snacks doesn't help either.

Stress, along with bad eating habits and reduced physical activity, is contributing to around 47% of the British population putting on weight. So next time you go food shopping, consider looking into other long life foods. Frozen fruits and veg are a great option. Not as good as the real thing, but they can help improve your intake of vital nutrients. Research has shown that there is a link between eating well and improved mood. Basically if you feel good inside, you feel good outside.

I've found it a struggle to make sure my kids are eating well. I have 2 son's, and their food consumption is astronomical! (and they're not even teenagers yet!) More than ever I'm grateful that I have the juice plus products to make sure we are all getting 20 portions of fresh, ripe, raw fruits and vegetables every single day. It's also extremely cost effective, because through the "Healthy Starts for Families" programme my children get their products for free.

It costs around £1.36 a day. That's nothing in the grand scheme of food shopping costs.

MedScape UK have reported a 300% increase in alcohol sales during lock down. Now that's a lot of money we're spending on alcohol! Not only will drinking more contribute to weight gain, it also acts as a depressant, so if you're already anxious, this will not help at all. Instead, improving your intake of micro nutrients, strengthening your immune system and having a body that is filled with good is far more beneficial in both the short and long term.

I love these products, I have seen the positive effects for myself; in me and my children. I've even got my husband on the capsules now (although I've noticed him experimenting with the boys sweetie versions too!) Once I explained to him how much better they are than man made, synthetic vitamin tablets, he was keen to get involved.

So, instead of focusing on what you can't control, start looking at what you can control. Make small simple changes to your health, and you will quickly see the positive effects. So instead of buying those extra bottles of wine, why not invest in your health. You must view your health as an investment, not an expense.

I have always loved helping people feel good, and now, more than ever, people are turning to me for support. If you too would like my help, please do get in touch. I will guide you through simple, realistic and sustainable changes that will have a massive impact.

Exercise. Nutrition. Support. Its what I do.
