Strong & Supple at 40 (and beyond)

As my 40th birthday approaches (a little too quickly!) I'm more determined than ever to inspire as many women as possible to take control of their bodies and become Strong and Supple. Unfortunately, the older we become, the harder we need to work to maintain our bodies as we fight against the natural ageing process.

I'm becoming increasingly aware of the huge number of women in my age group who want to take care of their bodies, but the gym isn't necessarily for them. Kids, cost, those young girls in tiny Lycra sports bras! I understand you, because I am you. I'm about to turn 40, I have two sons and a husband who works very long hours so the home is my responsibility. This doesn't leave a lot of time! Work, school runs, food shopping (boys eat so much!), housework, after school clubs, weekend sports matches; It's exhausting! So I understand that as much as you want to take care of yourself, time is premium so you need something quick, simple, effective and, most importantly, realistic.

I have spent a long time putting together workouts that are just that. Short, simple, effective, and doable in your living room. I've combined all my dance training, with my personal training know-how to create exercises that work on posture, strength, tone and flexibility. I have found that these are generally the key areas women are focused on, so that's exactly what I've done.

I've already had fantastic results using these programs with my 1-2-1 clients, and now I've made them available in video form. You can download these from my website under "workout packages". A one off purchase price and you have immediate access to all the workouts in that series, so you can work your way through them at a pace that suits you.

My "Strong & Supple" workout series has 2 editions so far. First, the "Beginner to Intermediate" level, which is suitable for pretty much anyone who wants to get started. But I've also produced a post-natal safe "pelvic floor and core" edition. This is great not just for post natal recovery, but for anyone who would like to really strengthen that key area. If you're home during lock-down, now is the perfect time to get started. I'm currently offering £15 off the full price, so what are you waiting for!

People also see my energy, and wonder how I keep going. Well, first I love what I do, which definitely helps me stay motivated. It's absolutely true that the more you do, the more you want to do, so staying active actually helps with energy levels. This is because during physical activity we release the feel good "endorphin" hormones. But I also top up my diet with some pretty incredible supplements; fruit and vegetable capsules (genius), and a natural energy drink are among my favourites. These products not only help with my energy levels, but they support my immune system and ensure I'm putting as much goodness into my body as possible. Getting enough fresh fruits and veg everyday can be tough, but they are so important for maintaining good health. They help protect against heart disease and cancer, they fight systemic inflammation, improve your digestion, help maintain a healthy weight and as I mentioned, keep your immune system strong and your energy levels high.

I try hard to eat well, but as a busy mum of two that's often easier said than done. That's why I love Juice Plus. The products I take bridge that gap between what I'm able to eat and what I should be eating. And best of all? My kids take the same products but in chewable sweet form FOR FREE through the companies "Healthy Starts for Families" initiative. Take a look at them yourself. On my website homepage, select "nutrition". There's a bit more info there, plus a link to shop. Everything is shipped straight to your door so its super easy and hassle free.

If you have any questions about anything fitness or health related, please do get in touch. I'm always happy to help anyone who wants to take control of their body. Stay safe x
